We arrived at South Mission Beach Thursday morn. We are in a 'van park - right on the beach - directly opposite Dunk Island. Went into Innisfail yesterday - just to have a look around and to buy a small inverter. We have found that sometimes it is very difficult to charge the battery on the lap top when we are free camping and cannot use the generator. With the small inverter we can plug it into the car cigarette lighter socket and charge as we like.

Innisfail shows how old a town it is by the way the shops are set out - strip shops, quite small with small entrance doors. Lots of indigenous inhabitants and also a very large Chinese community. Very neat and tidy though - traffic is weird - everybody seems to want to give way to everybody else!
Beaut clear days - last night was a bit cool though. We haven't got a 'normal' spot for the van - parked in a spot (with power and water) in a grassed area very close to all amenities. Camped next to a 'young' couple with 3 small kids - he is in his 40's and retired when he was in his early 30's. (real estate - he now develops old warehouses into living spaces - for a hobby!!!!)

We have found out that if your rig is over 8 metres long this sign is compulsory (in some states) - We have a total length of 14 metres!
