Cooktown 2nd September.

It must be spring! We decided to have a bit of a clean-up in the van. You would think - cleaning a van - huh, that won't take long......you would be surprised how hard it is to tidy a van. I had stuff stored under the dinette area of the van. so, there are 10 cushions to be removed. Where to put them? On the bed - ah but now Val needs to get to the bed so the sheets can be washed!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway, lucky I did need to move the cushions - I found a very slight water leak where the outside water connection is - vans must be put together by persons with very tiny hands! Got job done anyway and then it was lunchtime all of a sudden. We were going to go fishing after lunch but it was so windy we just went for a drive to check out a 'hot' spot. I reckon it will be one of those "shoulda been here last week" hot spots!

Anyway - hi to family and friends who are following us............

Cooktown RSL. very old building - good tucker!

Cooktown Bowls Club - 1 couple turned up for barefoot bowls

Part of Cooktown CBD (ha ha ha)

Captain Cook's statue.

This building was originally the Cooktown hospital

Quarantine Bay - supposed to be good fishing - maybe tomorrow

Very, very old driftwood tree.

There are ants with green bums on this ginger flower - supposedly their bums are sweet, sour, taste like pepper - or something like that. We haven't tried yet - maybe we won't?
